Rayne's Homework

Chapter 3 • Why does the driver of the white children’s school bus splash
the Logan children with mud?
As you know, they treated colored people differently then so when the bus splashed the kids, it was their way of saying, we dislike you. White's always got treated with way more respect and instead of the bus stopping it kept going as of to say, yo udon't deserve any respect.
• How do the children get their revenge on the white bus driver
and his passengers? Do you think this was right?
The kids got their revenge by digging holes in the ground that are soon filled with rain. The bus got stuck in the washout. I don't think it was right because now anything can happen to them now that they got their revenge. Soon, the white men will find out who did it and the Logan's may get the same results that the Berry's did.
• What might it feel like to be the only person in town to have a
big, fancy car?
I think it might feel daring because people may get jealous and may be willing to do anything in order to take that car away from you. People might try to flat your tires, bust your windows or even steal the car. So, to me, it's daring.

Niya

Hello to you people who have just tuned into this wonderful blog. Well I'll start off by introducing my self..... Hi, I'm Niya. I am the oldest of 5 children and I was born and raised in Washington, DC. I am the type of person you have to get to know to see my true colors. I would describe myself as jocular ( nice word), outgoing, and "hard-headed" (my mother).I only want to do things when I am not asked to..... I guess I am "hard-headed". I love love love love music and food, that is why when I grow up I want to be a chef. This is a school blog, that is why there are  homework assignments. There are posts  of our own too. You may be wondering who is "our", I had 3 partners NCC, Armari, and Rayne. Now it's really just me, Rayne, and Amari because our dear friend NCC had to transfer schools. Well, on that note..... Until next time, always listen to your mother and eat your vegetables!

   With love,
Niya

Amari's Homework

Chapter 1• How are the African-American students treated? Do you think
this is fair?
The African Americans are treated highly unliked. It is not fair that they are treated like that.
• What happened to the Berry family? What does this event tell
you about racism in the South in the 1930s?
The Berry family's house got burned down by whites. This tells me that in the South back in the 1930's many things could have happened to African American's because of race.
• Would you like to be friends with the Logan children? Why or
why not?
Yes, I would like to be friends with the Logan children because it sounds like fun to see how things are with them, especially Little Man.

Chapter 2
• Why has Mr. Morrison come to live with the Logans?
Mr. Morrison feels as though the Logan's need help so he came to live with them.
• What danger did the African-American people in the
community face because of their color?
They were threatened by the white's that they would loose their homes.
• What might it feel like to be the victim of hatred?
I think it might feel horrible because you will get treated differently.
