The Giver so far is great. It shows how Jonas is now seeing how it feels to be the Reciever of Memories. He has happy and rejoicing memories and sometimes he has painful and excruciating memories. His favorite one would probaly also be the same one as the Giver which was christmas. They called it love and family which is the same as christmas. They do have days when the Giver really doesn't feel like helping Jonas because of the pain that he was given previously. At times, Jonas feels as though he would take the pain from the Giver in order to lighten up his burden of pain. So far, Jonas really doesn't like his assignment because he doesn't get to do what his other friends get to do. They get to have fun times at the recreation center but he has to stay in the Annex room. He wants to try to find a way to apply for another job or let everyone recieve the memories but the Giver tells him that he is honored for taking the pain so that everyone else won't have to experience it. We are almost finished the book so I will be blogging more about the book as we come to the conclusion.
