Janiya P#$%^&r *bleep*

Censorship is a very complex topic. Cenorship when someone controls what a person hears or sees. The Federal Communications Commission or the F.C.C. is the government agency that censors but parents can censor things to like when they put controls on your television or filters on your computer. The F.C.C. puts parental advisory labels and slurrs, bleeps, or pauses on profanity in music. On movies and television sometimes whole lines  or scenes are cut for language or inappropriate images are blurred from vision.

Some people want things to be censored to keep our young minds clean and apropriate. Others think things should not be censored because people hear profanity at home or see these things at home so it is alrght for people to see this. I feel that music should be censored. People should be able to listen to tthe music they want without it going against their parents' wishes. Media effects the youth so what they hear may influence hem to use profanity or talk about drugs in their every day life.

There should always be a clean version to a song for younger audiences. If your parents think you are responsible enough they might let you listten to music with profanity in it and they will know you will not mimic what you hear. Your prefontal cortex does not fully develop until you are 25 years old it controls your personality and your social behavior. This part of your brain is still impressionable until you are 25. I am just saying wait a while before you decide to listen to uncensored music.

Music affects me and my peers whether censored or not. Censored is just better to me because it does not influence us as much as rappers or singers using profanity or talking about drugs. The clean versions of songs are better for children especially young children. Adults are effected less by the talk of profanity and drugs especially the adults with fully grown prefrontal cortexes.

If you agree with me there are a number of things we can do to get the law passed. You can write a letter or email your congress people. Visiting your state capitol or even the one in Washington, District of Columbia. We need to be persistant if we want this law to be passed. Act now!
